It’s been sometime since I posted anything other than recipes (Nobody really wants to read this shit, you’re here for recipes) and even then I’ve not added many new ones. However, I’ve done some site updates so continue on if you give a shit and are interested.
Submit recipe
I added this ages back but as it’s hidden behind registration it gets missed easily. Anyone who registers on the site has the ability to submit a recipe. These are manually checked and then added to the site, with the submitting party as the author.
Cloudflare
I got tired of the site being constantly under attack from bots, it’s now behind Cloudflare and has a few seconds of their splash screen before redirecting. It’s annoying, but it’s far less annoying than the spam mails I’ve been receiving.
Keto section
I started eating keto just after Christmas and as most of the recipes I’ve been finding/using/creating were keto friendly, it made sense to add a section/filter for them. You can find them in the “Recipes” tab above or click here.
Nutritional Info
Part of eating keto means I’m tracking what I eat, so I’ve started adding nutritional info to all new recipes (Might do the older ones eventually…). Though I don’t include a massive amount of info, it should have the main points, admittedly they’re not going to be 100% accurate though but should be close enough.
Mobile navigation
Mobile browsing sucked balls, which isn’t good when 80% of the site’s usage is on mobile browsers (Sorry!). The site is responsive sure, but the nav bar was a load of shite and did what the fuck it wanted, leading to misclicking and landing on incorrect pages. I’ve updated that and now it actually behaves properly.
Minor category updates
I tried to solve the mobile navigation problem by having better categories and landing pages, it didn’t work as well as I hoped. This being said the changes left the site a bit tidier and easier to navigate. Anyway, categories have been moved around and landing pages have been added in.
Search page
The right side bar ends up at the bottom of the page when on mobile, that’s fine but it means you need to scroll down to the bottom for the search bar and fuck that, nobody likes scrolling through pages. I’ve added a search page that can be found under “Recipes”.
